Hi there.many of you already read this in a recent email,
but I still wanted to post it:
Brynley had a cardiology appointment today. She was
last seen in April, at that time the DR. made some changes
in her medicine due to elevated pulmonary pressures. He
wanted her back in four months, but I had them bump it
up so that if there were to be any action taken, it wouldn't
conflict with school.
Dr. Miller was pleasantly surprised to see that her blood
pressure levels have come down a bit. She was at a 52
from 64, and he would like it to be (ideally)in the 30s....
eventually. Like I said, he was happy that it did come down
a bit, but would like to see her back again in 3 months. He is
trying to postpone the chance of her having to go to the cath.
lab, and if the pressures continue to go down, we probably
won't do it. (My guess is that we will.)
I asked what the long term outlook is for her, and he said that
he foresees that she will have high blood pressures, since there
was such extensive damage done to the heart in the very
beginning. It just may take a few years yet for that to get down to
where it is more acceptable.
Anyhow, I just thought I would let you all know how it went.
Please continue to keep her in your prayers. She still struggles with
rapid breathing, and excessive sweating. She recently has had a
cough, but the DR. doesn't think that it is related, but may be more
of a precursor to asthma or it may be allergies.
Lots of love to you all!
John, Misty, Eric and Brynley
